We discussed the coupling between the Canopy boundary layer and the Planetary Boundary Layer of LMDZ; It turns out that coupling the two is a real scientific problem that needs to be investigated with caution. Challenges are linked to correctly represent the roughness and its impact on the atmospheric flow; where does u/v becomes zero (within the canopy ?); etc. We will investigate these issues together with LMDz developpers. 55 56 A second discussion concerned the coupling of ORCHIDEE with atmospheric models: direct through standard routines or using OASIS.
